Introducing Online Checkout

We're excited to introduce Online Checkout, a self-service purchasing experience for your members.

Online Checkout guides your members through the entire purchasing process and activates their membership instantly. The experience is mobile-friendly and designed to just work.

Save time by letting your members purchase their memberships themselves, on their own schedule.

How it works

The checkout flow is designed to be simple and intuitive for your members:

1. Browse plans: Members visit your plan store and see all the plans you've made available for self-service purchase.
2. Select a plan: They pick the membership that fits their needs.
3. Choose a payment method: Depending on your configuration, members can pay online via card or choose to pay on-site.
4. Sign agreements: If any agreements are attached to the plan or your box, members review and sign them before continuing.
5. Confirm and go: The membership is activated instantly. Both the member and your team receive a confirmation email.

That's it. No admin involvement needed.

What you can configure

Online Checkout gives you full control over how the purchasing experience works for your box. Here's what you can set up in v1.

Checkout on/off

Enable or disable the entire checkout experience for your box with a single toggle. When disabled, your public plan store is hidden.

Payment methods

Choose how members can pay during checkout:

• Online payments: Members pay via card (powered by Stripe). Requires a connected Stripe account.
• On-site payments: Members select "pay at the gym" and settle up in person. You choose the on-site method (e.g. cash).

You can enable both options, or just one.

Proration

When enabled, members starting a monthly plan mid-cycle only pay for the remaining days until the next billing date. The prorated amount and upcoming billing schedule are clearly shown to the member before they confirm.

Billing pattern

Control when recurring payments are anchored: from the membership start date, or aligned to a fixed billing day.

Plans

You decide which plans are available for self-service purchase. Only the plans you explicitly enable will appear in the store.

Purchase limits

Set a maximum number of times a single member can purchase a specific plan, preventing duplicate or excessive sign-ups.

Agreements

If your plans or box have agreements attached, members are required to read and sign each one before their purchase is finalized. No agreement, no membership. It's all handled automatically within the checkout flow.

The member experience

From the member's perspective, the whole process takes under a minute:

1. Open the plan store from the member app
2. Pick a plan that fits
3. Pay or choose to pay on-site
4. Sign any agreements if required
5. Done. Membership is active

Both the member and the admin team are notified by email once the checkout completes. No waiting, no manual activation.

What's coming next

This is v1 of Online Checkout, built for members who are already part of your box. We're already working on what's next:

• Guest checkouts: Let new visitors purchase trial passes or drop-in sessions.
• More configuration options: Additional flexibility for how you set up and customize the checkout experience.

We'll share more details as these features take shape.
